I need to buy a joystick, but I'll totally play the multiplayer once it arrives. I couldn't believe my luck when I found this on on the store. I never played the multiplayer back in the day, but should be fun as long as we have our little community here.

I have this game on disk, but I've been thinking about buying the Steam version. Anyone ever played without a joystick? My old joystick is long broken, and I'm not really interested in getting a new one. Be nice to fire up the old GalSpan Orion and take to the skies. Love this old game.

love this game. as well as descent 1 and 2, x-wing vs tie fighter, and mechwarrior 3 =]

I don't think multiplayer will work. I'm fairly sure Novaworld (their MP servers) are non-existent.

Another game to consider getting (Steam doesn't have it) is Recoil. It's a tank shooter that's well worth the time downloading it.

recoil was one of my favortie games. I still have the origonal disk! I have gotten to the point wher i can do a full run through in about 2 1/2 hours or so. lol. more games needed to be made on that game engine.

I'd be down for some multiplayer at some point. I'm pretty sure I logged onto the multiplayer server at some point...maybe about 6 months ago. There was only one running, though.

I never owned a joystick to play it with back in the day and from what I remember it was perfectly fine, but I amagaing it would be difficult to play with mouse and keyboard if you're used to playing this sort of game with a joystick.

So is the multiplayer now ported to Steam's servers? Because I'd love to add my old copy to Steam and join in, but if it's still on NovaLogic's servers, we're out of luck as they've been shut down.
