Joystick issues, part two
I'm using a Saitek X56 joystick and, when it's set as controller, my ship just rolls to the upper right. I am rubbish at flying, with a mouse, so I'm hoping someone can resolve this issue. I played this game, when it first came out, and hooked my son on it.

This is a resolution problem as much a input problem. The game uses a very old implementation of DirectX 6 which doesn't work well with modern resolutions. You can actually cause the same thing to happen using the graphics upgrade mods and a Glide wrapper. I also had a X52 stick for a while and tried to use it, but honestly this was years ago and I no longer have it to be able to test with. Only a few things I can suggest. 1. Make sure the Saitek is showing up in windows as a joystick in the game controllers panel, you'll have to search for it in Win 8 and later to find it. Tach will only use Windows discovered joysticks. 2. Make sure the profiler isn't messing something up or set incorrectly. 3. you may have to bind to arrow keys or keyboard functions in order to make it work. 4. Check the joystick control panel within options in Tachyon, it changes per profile you make. 5. Actually as a last resort, you may want to try one of the graphics mods to see if changing the resolution will fix it.

Actually, I've found that I can use the joystick, if I use the non throttle/rudder config and I don't even LOOK at the "change key bindings" page. If I do, I have to set everything to Default. It's annoying, but I can use the joystick, so I guess this is solved.
