Hi, lizard person here :)

You must reach the rift without casting any other memories but a single one. Q, R, or any other memory you get before casting any also counts. The current achievement description is written a little ambiguous, we will post a fix very soon. Thank you for the feedback!
thx! got i. awesome surprise update btw

one more thing, so i did this solo then helped a friend do it, but just in case i still redid the challenge. was that necessary? like in co-op does everyone need to do it for one person to benefit? or just one player does it and he/she gets it?

EDIT: If you mean whether or not it unlocks for everyone if one guy does the challenge, then the answer is no. If 4 players want to unlock the achievement all 4 players must do the challenge.

For just one player to unlock the achievement in co-op games, only that person needs to do the challenge. The others are free to do whatever they want.

I'm unclear whether that answered the question. The question was, does everyone in the party need to use only one ability, including people who are not trying to get the unlock, or can you unlock it by only personally using one ability, regardless of what the rest of your group does?

Oh in that case I might have been a little confused, thank you for pointing it out Tyrian!

Only the player that does it gets the unlock. If all players do it in a run, then all players get it.

If only one player does it, then only that player get its.

At least, that is what happened with me and my friend.
something tells me hotfix incoming soon lol

I'm still a little unclear on this unlock. When saying that the memory "...without casting any other memories but a single one..." does that mean that during the run you can cast the memory in the Q slot, for example, multiple times during the run as long as the memory doesn't change? Or can you change the memory in the Q slot, as long as the memory you are using is in the Q slot? Or is it still valid if you move the memory to the E slot as long as you never use a different memory? Also, can you even cast the memory more than once, or is it just one use the entire run?

Once you cast any memory, you are stuck using that memory. You can cast that memory multiple times or move it to another slot. However, you cannot cast any other memory for that run.

So, for example, you pick Mist and decide to cast her Lunge memory. Now you can only ever use Lunge for the rest of the run. You can keep casting Lunge throughout the run, however, if you cast any other Memory; you will fail the unlock.

It also mentions the restriction as one "active" memory. Does that mean we can use a gem that triggers a second memory slot passively, or does it merely mean the basic and dash don't count?

For a thing like this, it would be really good to have something we can use to check eligibility through a run, so the player can experiment and figure these things out on their own without doing an entire run and then trying to figure out why the unlock didn't happen.

Hi, if you're talking about Essence of Paranoia, casts from the gem also counts as casts. It seems like we're having a problem wording the achievement confusion-free 😅

Any cast of Q, W, E, or R will lock in the type you have to use throughout the entire game, and you'll only be able to use that type of memories to complete the achievement. This also means you can use 4 of the same memories if you were lucky enough.

That's a great idea! We will need to think of a way to let the users know intuitively without causing troubles for people who aren't actively seeking to complete the achievement, perhaps achievement progress window can notify the players about the progress and causes of failure of those on-going achievements. Thank you for the helpful feedback!
