1. You have 3 HP left, with a ♥♥♥♥-ton of loot and do NOT want to tackle another 3 floors.
or
2. You want you dude/chick to get stronger and drink the booze to get a good hangover.
In the case of 1, you would also drink a bad one, just to GTFO.
Yet, in order to get a good one, you have to fight for it. They are not at the bottom for nothing, they are stronger than the ones up top. Making it easier to get to those, would defeat the purpose.
I agree that those things (weapons, healing, etc) are by far the most important, but hangover do make it a hell of a lot easier.
I currently have a guy with The Glow, which has made my life a lot easier. It make you immune to radiation pools. This includes the stuff rottys leave behind, but also the damage of pupae love (as far as I can tell),
and armors I just use SOB purifier's power armor + BEEZ head...how about MODs
these are very valued, but not necessary I suppose...
last TP...I got 20k in bank and more then 7k in carry
Often times, I get to B10, and I find my self torn between an amazing Hangover and Progressing the Story. On one hand, that SNEAK shot or that Moscow Pack Mule or that Hundred Palm Wine. On the other hand, progressing the story without having to do another 9 levels of fighting.
But at the same time, it's nice that the choice is presented to us (and sometimes rushed by an encroaching S.O.B. Purifier). I almost enjoy having to make that call of consequences.
Although... I wouldn't mind having a checkpoint or something. A house upgrade or a hangover that let's me wake up at an administrator's office? Would be nice.
