Character Creation
Whats the point of creating a character if that character dies off and is replaced by some random bozo. I get the game mechanic but geez.. maybe not have a character creation screen then. I spent the first 15 minutes creating my person only to loose it. :( I get 15 minutes isnt alot of time but.. Such a ♥♥♥♥ move. lol.

I feel that it adds to the impact of it, people asume that if you can customize a character then they are (theoretical) imortal. Then you turn the wrong corner and get a face full of lead from a SOB and loss everything. It comes as a shock, and you learn to tread carefuly from that point on.

I get that but.. if thats the case then why have a character creation screen to begin with. We could have just as easily been givin a character with a set name and random halfassed background. When he most likely dies off in the first few runs the same impact transfers over when some random person with no background shows up. We cant even see ourselves beyond character creation screen. Just feels like its not needed.

One of the house upgrades lets you re-customize your character

Amongst all the other reasons I refunded this terrible game after 30 minutes, the character creation was the straw that broke my back. Finding out the game had completely wasted my time with character creation, and I would have to spend an unlock on such a basic feature later, was one step too far. I can't condone completely random characters.

Even Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup knows better than that. Though I guess Stone Soup can tell the difference between a dungeon crawler and a run and gun shooter. Unlike this game.

As they say in the Simpsons, that's the joke. You spent 15 minutes customizing a character that probably didn't last 10. If it flew over your head then that's on you. I personally got a big laugh from the first time some randomized bozo took over my character's house. The game is entirely self-aware in its humor.

I still play the game, but when it came to character creation at the beginning. It certainly didnt come off as a joke to me.
