Exactly what is RGSS Player?
According to the task bar icon (and Google), this game runs through something called RGSS Player. I can't find anything on Google about it aside from crash reports, going about five pages back into the search results.

I see a lot of references to RPG Maker, but that's about it. I assume it's kind of like Adobe Flash Player?

A Bird Story itself is pretty cool and I can't wait until I have time to play it all the way through, but I'm one who likes to know exactly what's running on their computer.

It's the engine, the "game executable" if you will, that runs the game on Windows. I guess it's comparable to flash player.

The player did these things:1.loading RGSSXXX.DLL,2.Find RTP(if needed). 3.installize scripts.
4.run the script's main to launch the game.
All of other data,meterial...will be installized by scripts.
When the scripts run over or X launched, It will close the game window and terminate the program.

Is it a complete scripting environment? Neat.

Not exactly a Ruby scripting environment, but an RGSS(Ruby Game Script System) environment.
For RPG MAKER XP, the version is RGSS.RPG MAKER VX and RPG MAKER VX ACE, the version is RGSS2 and RGSS3.
The reference can be founded in the Help.chm file in the software(You can also launch help in software)

Good to know, especially considering I plan on using RPGM more in the near future. Thanks, to both of you.
