Wii U owners being left out in the cold

So apparently according to the description of this game those who bought it on the Wii U are not good enough to get the Super upgrade. Why even bother releasing this game on that platform then if you ain't gonna treat your players over there with the same kind of respect that PC players get here? Feels like Wii U players are getting flipped off with that move.

I'm sorry but I don't even have access to a Wii U devkit any more, so it would be a bit difficult to create a new version for it.
The game was released on the WiiU well before there were any thoughts of an updated version, also patching consoles is an incredibly painful process and persuading the publisher to do it for a loss isn't easy.

So why not take it off the eShop then instead of leaving an incomplete product there for full price?

You could always use Steam Deck and pretend it's a Wii U
