Yes, it is quiet old between 1986 and 1989. But the show got also streamed in the west decades later. I also edited my topic, adding the Japanese name, hoping that Japanese people might also remember it, since it was a Japanese show.

In theory you could really make a Takeshi's Castle multiplayer.
It was kind of a battle royale, long time before that term even came to life, where people needs to solve a stage and the ones who could not are out.
Takeshi's castle is a bit older and was eclipsed by it's American equivalents "Wipeout" and "American Ninja Warrior" Furthermore the American dub of Takeshi's castle had limited release (mostly on spike TV) was called a different name (XTC I think)
I only know Takeshi's castle and the spin-off they did in Thailand. But I also live in Europe and not USA.
