Takeshi's Castle 風雲!たけし城
I wonder why everyone saw the referrences to Squid Games, Ubisoft and nuisance streamer who bullied Japan, but no one mentioned the elements from Takeshi's castle.
I saw at least 5 elements there:
- Running through the doors (although it was only 1 and not 3 like in Takeshi's castle)
- Falling balls you have to avoid hitting
- Jumping over the beam, which circles
- avoid being hit by swinging stuff, while jumping over obsticles
- And of course the last battle against the general of the castle

Yes, it is quiet old between 1986 and 1989. But the show got also streamed in the west decades later. I also edited my topic, adding the Japanese name, hoping that Japanese people might also remember it, since it was a Japanese show.

There's a new season on stream now of the OG Japanese serie with Takeshi Kitano, I think on Amazon Prime, but oh men I will pay 40 bucks for a good Takeshi's Castle game with online multy and local multy...not too many players though because otherwise it will become like Fall Guys...too much chaos.
And the players waiting can "riff" what they're looking at...that would be awesome! Homebrew Takeshi's Castle.

In theory you could really make a Takeshi's Castle multiplayer.
It was kind of a battle royale, long time before that term even came to life, where people needs to solve a stage and the ones who could not are out.

Takeshi's castle is a bit older and was eclipsed by it's American equivalents "Wipeout" and "American Ninja Warrior" Furthermore the American dub of Takeshi's castle had limited release (mostly on spike TV) was called a different name (XTC I think)

I only know Takeshi's castle and the spin-off they did in Thailand. But I also live in Europe and not USA.
