Was it chock full of the the developers "children" named "Xir Tiddles, Xhe Fluffypaws"? That would explain the credits runtime.
I’m sure they did. Along with their reddit jannies as well.
I just got the length of credit roll time off of someone else.
Yeah two hours of credits is just a tad overkill. When devs include things like "developer babies", I cringe.
Oh I'm sure there was paydays abound for that credit roll. Maybe Ricky Gervais was right all along about acceptance of accolades and everything in between. Accept your accolades, thank the people who pay you. In this case, buying the game. Then say a simple: "Thank you for playing!" and move the eff onto something else.
I remember when credits were seen more of an actual thank you and had jokes. Now? They just seems like a list off asspats. When even the game journos say that credits for game are too long, you know you are messing up.
We’re giving away game codes for Assassin’s Creed Shadows while we play with the Creative Director! Tune-in now at http://twitch.tv/ubisoft.
These guys like an hour ago were giving away free code on Twitter/X , but then got caught doing it and ppl started talking about them. But oh no, they can't stop giving away free codes. Head on over to Twitch!
Symmetrical design!
It starts with a boring slog of extensive consecutive cutscenes and flashbacks.
Then it ends, with a boring slog of extensive credits.
It's like poetry!
Wait a minute. 2,000+ employees? 5 years in production with the average developer salary being €41,550 per year in France means they spent $448,740,000 USD just on salaries. Nothing like fibbing about the budget to try to keep your stock prices high. They have to sell over 6 million copies at full price just to cover the cost of salaries, let alone rent, electricity, legal fees, VAT, and advertising. They aren't making the 11-12 million sales they need just to break even.
OK folks get ready for the next installment of Assassin's Creed... brought to you by Tencent.
