Here a Post from 1998 "Matrox has a fairly new GL driver called Turbo GL for the G-400 & it ROCKS!"
So you can enjoy a lot of old games, i wich i had an old PC with an Matrox, old Games rocks^^
http://www.zeus-software.com/downloads/nglide
If you choose voodoo and 4mb texture memory you will get 1024 without the z buffer and looks great. Same setup for all 3 of the flight sims. Comanche 4 doesnt use glide. It uses DX8 and doesnt need a wrapper.
Do you mean root as f16 root folder? I screw up maybe. I first ran dgwoodoo setup at my download folder. Then I Moved it from my download folder to F16 root folder. Then I copied all glide dll files and DDrav.dll to root. In game, 3d enabled and then I see only black and little only little bit of that fighter model.
Sorry to zombify this discussion. While the dgvoodoo and nglide are good workarounds, I still have the 3d acceleration patches from novalogic, and I still could find those patches available at the official site. Maybe Novalogic could backport the patches to equalize the game version in and out of Steam. The patches install on Steam but then install DRM that ask for a proper CD to play.
