Not an artist but recently received, a few questions.
Good evening(Morning, afternoon, night),

I recently received this in a pack from Humble Bundle and I'm considering trying it. I've got a few ideas that I'd love to draw out and that I can visualize... the problem lies in the fact that I'm not much of an artist.
My first question is this: Is it even worth the attempt to try and draw anything in this for someone of my skill?
My second question is: How easy is it to pick up and what tips and tricks do you guys have for someone of my skill level?

Just a note: I won't be responding until quite late tonight my time, just thought I'd go ahead and post this.

I'm no artist either. My suggestion is to first get comfortable with the guides and how to attach and alter them. Once you get your shape down painting is a no brainer as your brushes will clip to the guides.

Alrighty, thank you. I will keep that in mind. I found the guides while playing around and clicking advanced mode. They are certainly.... interesting to work with to say the least.

You should check out the Featured Sketchbook and allow sketches to load in normal time. It will show you the stroke by stroke process in which it was created and could inspire you. There's a Dropper tool which you can position next to a stroke to see what brush type, size and color that was used.

As far as skill level, there's a bunch of fun brushes and audio reactive mode (which is a blast!) so I would just say have fun creating and over time you'll get a lot better and then start sharing some of your work.

There's a mode where I can see how people did things in real time?!? Ok, that's just fantastic! I may genuinly have to check that out. I'm always envious and curious about the things some of my artistically inclined friends can do. Thank you guys for telling me about that!

Yes but not real time per se, its a sped up version where you show the implementation of each paint stroke as it was laid down, but it is really cool to see how it was created from scratch. Although sometimes it could take several minutes to load, depending on the size of the sketch.

There's also a mode called Audio Reactive where you play any music on your computer, then you could have the app search for audio. Once it finds it, there are supported paint types that dance to the music ...its pretty trippy!

I took a look at the Audio Reactive mode, it was pretty cool to be honest, watching things flicker and flash in response to the music was super cool. Also, I'd like to say, I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my comments and questions. Very few developers would be willing to do so.

Just have fun as a 5yo and you will eventually figure it out.
