How is single player in this?
Is there a true single player/offline mode for this? If so, how is it?

This game has the singleplayer option, but not really a story behind it, you can fight pirates alone, and have great time building great bases, but I prefer you to play it other people on a pvp, pve std servers and not alone. Great game, try it out and become a bad as pirate with your friends haha! ;)

Always sounded boring as hell to me, never tried it even after 1500 hours.

Nope. It is the same as multi-player, only a local host version.

There aren't many players on the MP servers so best to play SP and get the hang of it first imo.

There is sp, but it will not work without internet. At least not for me.

i am enjoying the sp and the pve. This is a watered down version of rust or medieval engineers. The game ends up being silly as there seems to be little point in having a ship. I just set up glider towers between the islands and places i hunt for fat. everytime i make a boat some ship comes and destroys it...

i think you have to tie your boot up or it will get shot. i use the glider. i dont bother with the boat. its slow and a pain for me. gliding is fast and nice to see the view from above. i miss the small boats we had. they were steam boats. like a raft. you put wood in it. was easier to use and get around.

I am also interested in single-player and only single-player. What exactly do you do in SP in this game? The game description on the Store page is mostly about the MP aspect. From googling around I think I figured that NPCs will not attack your base, that there are no NPC quest-givers (which is normal for a mainly PvP game), but that there are NPC ships patrolling between islands that one cannot take on when playing in local SP.

OOR feels like SP Ark, but I'd like more details please.

1. Does it have all the super detailed customization that Ark or Conan have? Like day/night cycles, harvest rates, or even enemy strength?

2. I guess you do the usual survive stuff, get food and water, build a shelter/super base, fight the local fauna? Any reason to fight NPCs?

3. Stuff to discover, nice loot to find?

4. Any other activities?

Thanks in advance.

-Not near as polished or have the same amount of content.

-Like day/night cycles - yes
-harvest rates - stuff grows very fast when you plant it but it a shallow experience at best.

or even enemy strength?
-I noticed when i leveled up assassin the NPC get harder so I think they level aslo...

-one surval bar for food and an endurance bar.. survival is way to easy

3. Stuff to discover, nice loot to find?
-there are Pirate bases with respawning Pirate but their ultra dumb and you end up exploiting them.

4. Any other activities?
-treasure hunt
-explore
-build glider towers...

@MONKWORKS

"I noticed when i leveled up assassin the NPC get harder so I think they level aslo..."

I really doubt of that.

hehe they do not change at all, they always stay as the same, I would like to see these pirates smarter, that they roam or walk out of their pirate base.

activities:
-treasure hunt
-explore
-hunting animals
-base building
-glider towers
-pirate base raid
-pirate boat hunt

these activites is cool and fun, but we need more stuff like:

-Fishing from the baot- with fishing pole
-random loot marked on the map, that show up spontaneous.
- sea monster on the map, it would be really cool to have a sea monster boss in out of reach.
-missions to kill stronger pirates for coin
-pirate(melee weapon) roaming at night on different spots on the map.

Yes - and personally, I think it's great. Some feel that PVP is more fun, but I dare say others will prefer PVE. I'm glad we have a choice.
