Can you sell to the pirate?

I made my way to the pirate ship. but how do you sell items to the pirate? I only see a buy option.

There is not a sell to pirate option as of yet, it has been suggested and could possibly happen in the future if enough people ask for it I guess but it's not on the list of things to be done.

So at this time, the only way to get coins is via the tresure chests.

That's false. You ARE able to buy things. The best way to get coins is from the pirates, I have discovered.

Fred, Can you provide more information?
I am having a heck of a time getting coins. So far the only way has been via treasure chests found on the shores. And the coins you get are meager from those.
And it is very grindy to sail around and around the islands hoping for a spawn.

Ok, after trial and success... I think I know what Fred was getting at.

The Pirate ship only Buys items.. you cannot sell items on the ship (wish you could)

The Pirate bases are the best supply of coins, by defeating the pirates and looting their treasure chest. (good items and several coins.) theres also a good chance to get a map from that chest for another load of coins and loot.

You get a lot more coins from the pirate base chest than you do from the coastal ship wrecks.

The trick is... to survive a pirate base attack. not easy solo.. but can be done. :)
