In Windows 10, you can right-click on the sound icon on the taskbar next to the clock and select "Troubleshoot Sound Problems". This did a number of things, and then made a suggestion for how to fix my sound: disabling enhancements.
Click [Start] -> type "Sound" and click to open Sound Options. Select your Playback device (i.e. "Speakers") and click Properties. The properties window on mine has a "Sound Blaster" tab. Open that tab and then tick the box that says "Disable Sound Blaster enhancements" and click “OK”.
The next time I started the game, my sound was behaving as normal; music and SFX during the menu screens and all sound working in game.
I hope this helps anyone who had similar issues.
Sorry to hear that you're having this problem.
If you can't hear any of the audio at all, this could be the result of bad data.
To resolve this kind of issue, I'd like to recommend that you please perform a file cache check:
Steps on how to do this can be found here.
This could also be because the in-game settings have defaulted to mute.
To check these settings, please navigate as below:
- Launch Worms W.M.D.
- Help & Options
- Settings
- Other Settings
- Music
- Effects
- Worm Speech
Finally, it could be the playback device that the game is defaulting to.If the game is trying to play through something other than your preferred audio device, you might not hear anything.
To see which device the game is playing through, open your volume mixer and cycle through al devices, until you see Worms W.M.D.
If the game is muted or low in here, please adjust the slider as necessary.
Thank you,
BenTeam17
When I connect my Notebook via HDMI to my TV I only have sound via HDMI on my TV for the intro.
In the game I only have sound via my internal Notebook speakers.
What needs to be done to fix this and have sound via HDMI also during the game?
