Hello,

I have a problem, when I lauch the game, the whole screen is zoomed, and I see part of the screen. Is it possible to adjust the resolution before launching the game somehow?

Hey Monten,

Sorry to hear about the resolution issue you're experiencing.
So that I may assist you further, could you please confirm the following for me:
  1. Your system information*
  2. A screenshot of your issue
*Instructions on how to obtain and send your system information can be found here

With this information, I will do my best to assist you in resolving the matter.

To answer your question, however, it is indeed possible to configure the resolution before entering the game.
If you go to the following directory -C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\WormsWMD\CommonData- and edit the W: and H: values in a file called local.cfg, this should change the resolution before opening Worms W.M.D.

Thank you,

Monten, check the properties of your Worms WMD executable file by right clicking the file after finding it in windows explorer, set it to run in the mode for your operating system and turn off the adjustment for DPI settings.

Does anyone know about this issue on a Mac? I have only the lower left corner of the screen, and it is currently unplayable as I cannot get past the fortress mode warning when the game first comes up. It works great on my laptop PC, but my mac it does not work very well. I am unable to find the directory in which the cfg file would reside.

Any solution for MAC users? i bought the game yesterday. I play fine when i am using macbook pro native screen, but when i plug my 1080p screen i only can see 25% of the left bottom corner of the game..

I found a solution for external screen on MAC. Just go to the local folder where the game is installed (/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/WormsWMD) and then right click on "Worms W.M.D".
Choose the option "Get Info" and then a popup appears. In the General tab, find the checkbox saying "Open in Low Resolution". Check it and then close the window and run the game without problems.

There is no "Open in Low Resolution" checkbox for me (I'm on macOs Monterey M1)

I ran through the same issue. I found a « workaround » by closing my laptop to only have my external screen before launching the game. No a perfect solution but it may help you play the game without pluging out your external screen (and it works only with a laptop)
