2. you can get matches fine right now but the game has not reached more than 1.7k concurrents as of release so who knows about longevity
to view the number you can use either steamspy or go to community hub and theres a number for players in game.
its not a bad number, its just also not a good number. we wont be able to predict longevity until we have 2 weekends of data. also i can see a sale making this game surge say, during the winter sale.
my biggest hope is t17 breaks their traditrion and give us some good post release support addressing all our concerns and then puts the game on sale following a large update and the player base surges and we all have fun and we are all happy.
I have bad feelings about the future of this game. I'm very close to buying it since they got back to this awesome 2D graphics from the ugly and useless pseudo 3D, but the price is shamelessly irrealistic (compared to Rocket Leage for example which has a HUGE player base) and this could hold back people from buying it, and then it's dead. Even when it's gonna be on sale people will lose interest and it will never have a healthy online player base. Just why the f"ck this price tag, ffs Team 17.
Is the online mode working fine at least? I played Revolution and the online multi was terrible, it was almost impossible to find a match even when ppl played it online.
