How do you fire more than two shots with the tank?

Heya, trying to figure out how you get the tank to fire more than two shots. I seen the computer fire off something around 6 to 8 shells each time they fire, i can fire two or one and stop. Just waiting seems to stop automatically at two, pressing space after the two doesn't seem to do anything either. What's the trick?

You just have to wait after firing 2 shots and then it fires 2 more. Don't press space after the first time.
