In-game there is chat, Just press Page Down. There is a definitive need for a chat in lobby though.

There is a chat in lobby, its just at the top left of the screen. should be just in the lobby window to be honest.

It was a phone in Worms Armageddon.
But in the century of Skype, VOIP and in game voice chat it's indeed a bit confusing to see a ringing phone when somebody wrote something in the chat. ^^

yes chat is there and it works very well ...just , it can be impemented in to the lobby so anyone can see it without pressing that phone
