Release the demo!
Got to play earlier this year, at both rezzed and PC gamer weekend. The game was spot on, really hitting the nostalgia bone, while freshening things up a bit. (plus getting to meet the team was also a extra bonus).

Playing w.m.d gave me a big enough fix to know I wanted to pre-order. However, for people that haven't had the privilege, I would strongly suggest team 17 release a little demo, would be a step in the right direction!

Unfortunaly, with just over two weeks to go this could be a bit late:Skunk:

Worms was born and raised in the 90's... The golden age of game demos.

not gonna happen with todays pre order and marketing practices. have you ever seen a demo of nowadays new releases?

Not evil, just basic. Not sure what changed so much with T17 since the 90s. Their competitors at the time are still quite good. Even Blizzard gave us a trial for StarCraft2 (SC1 was sorta one of the "other" games to play during W:A timeframe).

Pity. UK is walling them for us to keep the illegals from French tunnels out. The problem isn't our wall though, its the Wall that Team 17 built against its customers, and they are paying for it in popularity of the title.

Demos were a lot of fun, but they aren't coming back, there's too much research to suggest that they only hurt game sales.

I wonder if one could critically assess sucj research based on the circumstances that it was conducted in. For example in those days you had to buy a physical copy. Today there's a few clickd that seperate you from going full game after having played the demo. Unless it's a psychological thing but even then I am sure that times have significantly changed since the nineties.

Or just remove that preorder-only-DLC nonsense so people can wait for reviews and Twitch streams.

Yeah I imagine they were more effective in the 90's when internet was limited and marketing was more print and television based

people will be able to buy it later anyway. team17 has never released a preorder bonus to a worms game which didn't show up in the store as a seperat dlc.

That's true.
I mean the whole point of the pre-order DLC is to make people buy the game without knowing how it turns out.
To bad for Team17, there is the refund-system this time around.
I wonder how many people who pre-ordered Worms:Reloaded would have refunded it if they would have had the option back then.
