And yes, I miss forts.
Yeah, including the previous Worms game, idiot.
Previous worm games (worms armageddon, worms revolution, worms wwp) didnt had cross-platform, the only title that had crossplay was worms clanwars.
You dont need to call people idiot for that, do your research before you buy because who is the idiot now? ;)
Yes, it would be nice to have, many people want it, and Team17 is looking into it.
But it was never claimed that the game would have this feature,
so if you just blindly assumed this, you have nobody else to blame but yourself.
This game is missing some other features that older Worms games had too.
But I'm not rioting or calling people names,
because I looked up what was in the game and what wasn't before I bought it.
This is a relatively niche game and it can't afford dividing the player base.
Eh, no?
Cross platform between consoles and pc is indeed a rare feature, but cross platform between Windows, Mac and Linux is logic.
I'm sure the game has the same netcode on each platform, so it's a wonder, that it's not possible.
In fact on Mac and Linux this game is currently a singleplayer game which supports local co op, because you don't find games there.
And because of the missing lobby, no one knows, if anyone is there who eventually would join.
And of course nobody hosts a game and waits half an hour in the hope, anybody will join.
I wonder if the "reason" or cause for not supporting cross-platform gameplay is related to Worms Steam version using Steam API for multiplayer functionality (player invites etc) while GOG version does not support Steam invites. Yes, it's stupid and should be fixed ASAP.
I'm sure this won't ever be fixed, because it would need to develop a new independence WormNet (like Rocket League did).
But the Steam API is the same on Windows, Mac and Linux and the GOG API is the same on Windows and Mac, so yes, this should be fixed asap.
They said, they will update it post-release. But I'm not so sure...
The community dies too fast on Mac and Linux and at the end, there "is no need" for cross play anymore.
