It depends on your time zone and when you play. I am in the USA and I typically wanna play late at night, around 2 a.m. or so my time. I usually never see any hosted games, nor can I get anyone to join mine. Other times of day are more active though. The game started off more active than it currently is. I think that the launch version of this game made a bad impression on a lot of people and that many are waiting until the game gets signifcant patches until they start playing again. I barely play it and I'm a Worms junkie.

Openly admitting to pirating the game isn't a really good move.

The way you wrote your sentence made it seem like you were currently playing the game in SP with plans of buying it afterwards, my bad.

There aren't many players at MP ,about 3 or 4 rooms on evening (GMT)..

Because there is no global lobby system, we can't see how many ppl are waiting or willing to join/host.

Waiting for what? If you want to play and there is no lobby suiting your needs, you create one. That's how you tell whether there are people willing to play or not, you see their lobbies.

I have been playing Worms W.M.D. for the last 2 weeks in the USA. Every time I go online on the PC, there's at least 1 game being hosted. But I like to play ranked.

So, when I click to play Ranked (in which Worms W.M.D. automatically matches you up in a game), I always find a game within 30 seconds to 5 minutes of waiting. Usually I only wait 30 seconds to 2 minutes, here and there it's 5 minutes. Although if it takes longer than 2, I usually just exit the game and relaunch it in case there's some software glitch or something.

Bottom line: I get to play ranked 24/7 regardless of when I'm in the mood to play. I've been playing from 10:30am to 6am Pacific Time on various days.

(Excuse my English) I didn't explain myself very well..
In the Wormnet when you enter a channels like "anything goes" or somthing else, you can see a list of wating ppl who are about to host rooms..
It was such an easy way to set up matches... In WMD we can't see nothing else than the rooms that had been created.. who knows if there are like 40 more ppl that looking at that one lonly room and saying: "oh boy, the MP is dead".

You can see how many people are playing the game at any given time on steam stats. Peak is less than 200, avg current players is less than 100. Then you split that between OSs, 80% Windows, 10% Linux, 10% Mac (this is of course not exact). On Windows you probably have 70 players at any given time. Then you take into account those playing solo, those playing ranked, and those playing privately with friends, or hotseat. There's barely anybody left.

The global chat lobby will help things a lot, but unfortunately there are a lot of players who play almost NOTHING but ranked games, so they're not going to be hosting or joining non-ranked stuff. Depending on how they implement the global chat lobby (I'm going to assume it will be done stupidly), those only interested in ranked matches are probably not going to even show up in the chat. Add to this the fact that the player base is split so many ways... windows, mac, linux, gog, ps4, xb1... bah.

This game really needed a proper WormNET like global chat lobby with a player list and hosted games on DAY ONE.
thank you for your answers . might buy it next week :steamhappy:
