But seriously, why is $30 unacceptable? It's still less than the majority of new titles.
Because the olders ones were $15. And its not really an AAA game.
Plenty of good games coming out for 15-20 dollar range. There's really no excuse.
For a $30 worms price tag I would expect it to have tons of content and features.
Lack of themes, speechbanks, reward.
Too few scheme option.. no forts mode!?
Poor lobby system...
No full access for weapon list..
It doesn't feel like a full product yet, sadly.
You have no background whatsoever to be able to say it should be 15.
There are costs involved and of course you have to make profit as well.
Can you guarantee that you'll sell twice as much for half the price? Propably not.
Reducing the price of a product can only increase the sales. People who have no intent of buying it will not buy it, regardless of its price. A lot of people are probably on the fence.
Currently, I cannot recommend this game to friends. It's a good game, I have 191 hours on it, my purchase was well worth it. But 30€ for this content, no. Especially since the game has 200 max players at peak times. The game lacks many things, which I hope will be added in the close future.
Worms is not for everyone, it's always been a niche market, but with so few players, it's a risky buy right now.
Reduce the price to 20 or 15, then add cosmetic DLCs like speechbanks, hats, terrain schemes, etc... Even at 1€ per "pack" of hats, it's going to make them money.
If they release another Worms game, then for many people, it's the end of Team17. Worms WMD is the last chance for a fully supported product, unlike the previous Worms that got forgotten way too soon. If they release updates for this one, it can potentially become the new best Worms game. There are many things to be added that most people agree on. Complete freedom of customization, and a much better lobby system are high on the list. Once that's done, the game will be much more enjoyable. And with a slight price drop, will attract many players. We need the Worms community to be on one game. Although Armageddon will never die, I hope WMD sees more players in the future. Sure, you don't need that many players to have a full match, and the game is still fun with a group of friends, but it's always good to have a healthy amount of players.
i guess they figured that adding vehicles and crafting would make up for the lack of forts mode and map themes
i mean seriously a 2D worms without forts?...they really shot themselves in the foot here there are pepople who only play worms because of forts and if this game doesn't have forts they won't be buying wmd
bad move team 17
So why would you release a game for 30 when its 15-20 at best? You can't compete. Look at Battlerite and Dead By Daylight, two cheaper games who were steam top sellers. You sure as hell will never see Worms be a top seller anymore because the prices are ridiculous.
Jesus christ, so many crybabies in here.
Just don't buy it if you can't afford it, ffs.
It's not that I can't afford it, it's that its not worth it for the value of content i'm getting.
