Rank 2 is Donkey with gold shield.
Not sure about rank 1.
Sorry I didn't keep track of how many points all the ranks in between are at. Maybe someone else working their way down the ranks can add what's missing.
Each rank goes up by the next odd number (by thousands) starting with 3000
(If that makes any sense) So 0-3000 is 3000 pts then 3000 to 8000 is 5000 pts then 8000 to 15000 is 7000 pts (and so on). LOL I actually used something I learned in math class. Thanks teachers!!!
If the Ranked system doesnt change in the next update I dont see many people playing ranked in a month time (even less are now), as many will realise this. It'll just be the same faces playing each other over and over, with a vague rank, and new players being put of as all they'll play is pros.
This. Someone who starts playing ranked needs at least 384 games to reach rank #1 at the moment. And that's only 3 weeks after release. I've played 60 ranked games so far with 86.67% winning ratio and have 18154 points. The current rank 2 has 82.03% winning ratio and 97343 points, which means I should play at least 253 games more to reach him...
There's not much point in playing ranked until they make the rating system Elo based and the matchmaking system find you an opponent primarily from the same point class. Currently newcomers get bashed by top players and top players get rewarded with 313 points each time.
I hope this is high on their to-do list.
I'm not sure if this would help but i think you should only be matched up against people in your rank so rank 10 only plays rank 10, rank 1 only plays rank 1. It would be the easiest way (for now) to keep it fair and let you actually work your way up (or down if the next rank is too hard)
But while I do agree that in an ideal world opponents should be matched against people of similar skill, I really doubt that there are enough people playing to make that work. What would almost certainly happen is that you'd very rarely be able to find a game. I'm sure of this because every time I play now I recognise my opponent from some previous match.
It's possible that the system does actually attempt to match players of a similar skill, but upon failing to find any it just goes for the next best thing. It's either that you simply don't get a game. All things considered, that's probably the best option outside of official tournaments.
Besides that, as much of a grind as it is, at the end of the day you still have to win your games. A bad player isn't going anywhere.
That's how it should work. Wait a moment for similar skilled opponent and if there's none, match with anyone. I doubt it's working like that at the moment.
But if you are from class 1 and play against someone from class 10, you should get only a few points for winning and lose more points if you happen to lose. That way top positions wouldn't get out of reach.
I'm pretty confident those ranks are stored server-side. Everyone can access them, after all.
There's no way in hell I'm gonna grind out hundreds of games with scheme settings I don't like just to get a couple of weapon skins. I don't even care if they fix the matchmaking, as I doubt there's enough people trying to play ranked for that to even matter... especially with the division of the player base. The most important thing is that it becomes Elo-based and points won or lost are completely relative to the record of your opponent.
There also needs to be far more ranked modes, clan functionality, etc. (I've said this stuff probably a hundred times by now.)
