Multiplayer online steam / xbox game pass

Does Someone knows if it is possible to play online with a friend thah have Worms with the xbox launcher (game pass on pc) when you have the game with the steam launcher ?

If someone creates a lobby from steam version, pc game pass user cannot join it? They are both playing on pc. Not that i have a friend but it sounds weird (or lazy) that 2 pc players cannot join each other.
