WMD or Reloaded?

I´m on the fence about buying either of them... Personally, like the look of the old worms from Reloaded so much more, that i borderline hate the looks of WMD. But something tells me WMD is way better as a game.

Which one's better, from the opinion of those who have both?

I liked WMD way more, but probably because I grew playing the old 2d worms. Reloaded is still fun and there are a lot of people that prefer it tho.

Reloaded is my least favorite of all of the Worms titles and I have a lot of experience with all of them. The art style is nice but the gameplay itself is crap. It feels like a mobile game. WMD mechanically is a lot more solid and has more to offer overall.

That said, the best Worms title is still W:A. Best gameplay feel / mechanics, least bugs, and there will be a huge update coming out soon for it which will add so much more.

No question that armageddon is the best, at the same time... Is quite old, and WMD art style is so VASTLY inferior to everything that came before it... I don't even know what they were thinking...

U sura Armageddon is gonna get an update? Does it have anything to do with that Worms 2020 teaser?

Ended up getting WMD, and im still on the fence about refunding it... It's just so utterly charmless. yes i heard everywhere it was the best since armageddon, i guess the classic just left expectations way too high for the franchise. by making a game that can hardly be improved upon.

I loved WA and just bought if for a few of my friends as well as me...but it's sooo dated. I also bought meyhem because of the 3d, i remember playing the 3d version on ..nintendo...wii? this one works too.. but still whre are all the weapons from armageddon?? I have reloaded, it's cool...but which is hte most recent worms lolllllll. I hope they make a new 3d one cuz that ♥♥♥♥ fun.

Yes, the 3.8 update for W:A should be coming out soon. It's not Team17 who is developing it, but rather independent coders who have worked on the game already in the past as well as a couple of others. It's been "coming soon" for a long time now (years) but according to recent news it should be ACTUALLY coming out soon. A few months maybe.

The W:A update has nothing to do with the Worms 2020 teaser. That will be an entirely different game.

I too didn't like the WMD art style at first but it grows on you. At least it did for me.

As far as what Worms games are the 'best' it is really just a matter of personal tastes and preferences. I do think that on the whole WMD is a good game but it could have been better in many ways. I think that MECHANICALLY it is the best game since WWP but in terms of various gameplay elements and items available Clan Wars was far superior. The gameplay was more strategic and tactical but it also suffered from a really crappy '2.5D' engine that caused some issues.

I think that the "Worms 2020" game will be a 3D game, which will be good news for some people but will be bad news for me since I do not enjoy 3D Worms.

Anyway, WMD is a fairly solid title overall. It is definitely far better than Reloaded in my personal opinion.

There's a few quality of life improvements (modules) for WA: full HD resolution menus[worms2d.info], windowed mode[worms2d.info], module[worms2d.info] that allows you to host games without any hassle with firewall.

With graphics I can't help. :)

I really hope it isnt 3d... But it would make a lot of sense i guess, it has been quite awhile since the last 3d one, maybe they've thought of a new way to maybe make them 3d worms fun this time around.

As far as best... Sure it is subjective, but most would agree ultimately that armageddon is the most beloved of the franchise. Tho i played a lot of Worms 1 on mega drive, and worms 2 on pc, before even getting a hold of armageddon on dreamcast i think.. or was it psx... maybe just both.

In any case. WMD is great in several aspects, except as we commented, the appearance of the worms... They just look wrong... Also there is a kind of frustrating limitation when it comes to naming worms, that other games didnt have... like they can't have more than certian ammount of letters. Wanted to call my team "Worms Cinematic Universe"... too long... called it W.C.U... Wanted to call a worm "Captain Wormerica"... too long... Incredible Worm, too long... It feels like "no fun allowed: the game - worms edition" at least reloaded allows you for much longer names. I don't know, something about it just rubs me the wrong way... Even if physics are better in general than in Reloaded... Also the ninja rope just isnt the same since worms 2 or armageddon.

The names thing is an odd deal breaker, buti it legit bothers me XD.

definitely agree i loved WA for ps1. the customization the weapons. basically i guess i'm looking for the best one/that is optimized to current times. but since u guys said there's a mod team ♥♥♥♥ ya. gonna try that out. but am also hyped for a current 3d one if they do it right... the most customization, why is that so hard? and limiting worms names? like a re u ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serious?? this ♥♥♥♥ hella old nobody knows what it is so let us put whatever we want. thas like the main part of the game

Well worm names have always had a limited character length. Same with team names. Just gotta work within the confines, I guess!
