Can you do 2v2 online?

Me and a friend are thinking of getting this but was wondering, can we play us 2 versus another random 2 online co-op style? Or is the online multiplayer just you versus other solos? Thanks!

Hi, surely you can have a team game. All you need to do is to make sure that game host assign the same color to all users who are supposed to play together. My friend and me are always looking for worthy pair of opponents and often play together. Unfortunately there is no shared inventory (i.e. each player uses own set of weapons and tools) so playing together ends up turning unfair in 2 vs 1 situations.
