Best worms game and differences

The last time i've played worms was armageddon on ps1 if i remember correctly, now i see that they have switched from a 2d model to a 3d model and got back to the 2d model, my question is, whos the better worms game in your experience and what are the main differences between the games

IMO the best Worms game overall is still W:A for PC. If you have never played Armageddon on PC and only on consoles, do yourself a favor and buy it. The PC version is so much better and has what I think is the best gameplay mechanics and feel of any Worms title. That said, Clan Wars is also a really solid game, but the multiplayer is basically dead. WMD is a solid enough title and will be better as the months go on and Team17 adds more content and fixes stuff. I have several complains about WMD but overall I think it is okay. If you want the most customization, the most user-created content, the best players, and the best community, Armageddon is king.
