Report a translation problem
-the inability to dismantle W1 Rocket and Air Strike
-the fact that half the caverns are "split" and half the crates spawn in the bottom and nobody who actually wants to win will ever go down to the bottom (unless their opponent is a total noob and spawns down there then opens it up for some reason)
-you need/want more mobility in a cavern match than an outdoor match in order to take the high spots but the Donkey Paste required to craft a Rope or Jetpack cuts out at least one other weapon that players would normally craft, which throws everyone's strategy off.
Lack of crafting supplies is never the problem. More crafting is like more government. It's never needed.
The problem with cavern matches is:
1. Sudden death. It forces and incentivizes people to hide at the top and wait for a draw.
2. Sides of the map are indestructible. It's harder to get kills by the sides this way, and also it restricts people from being able to curve zooks to their opponent with the right wind, as well as being able to use super sheep, homing missiles, etc. If the indestructible sides were removed, it would be far easier to possibly kill a turtling opponent. Remove the indestructible sides and all of a sudden hiding on the side of the map is far more dangerous.
3. Torches are fairly limited. More torches = more of a chance to get in close and finish someone off.
4. Sentry guns are far more effective in cavern matches due to not being able to go over them. You pretty much HAVE TO destroy a sentry when placed in certain spots or you simply won't be able to get over to someone. In sudden death, having to 'waste' a turn destroying a sentry or blowing up girders can stall out the game to where the darksider wins.
5. As Rantsi pointed out before, we should have 1 more teleport.
That said, I don't think that fort maps / cavern maps should even exist in ranked matches UNLESS the forts maps are actually played with the fort scheme (which needs to be modified anyway), preferably with a separate ladder for Pro and Fort ranked. More crafting doesn't fix anything at all.
Anyone remember, hmm, making a good shot to win the match? Me either.
