Gray Wizard - random "magic points" ?
I can't make any sense of magic consumption I'd like to be able to eek out magic so I have some left for a maps boss.

Sometimes I seem to be able to blast away turn after turn seemingly (just occasionally) but usually he's basically a ocasional very weak melee spectator, he's level 3 with a few items to help max power...

If it is just random (rather than randomly topped up?) then thats a very disapointing waste of strategic possibilities

Ok first up you get a random amount of power from Winds of Magic each turn. This seems to increase as you level up. It seems to be D6+ your level or something. if a 1 is rolled you get an encounter and 0 power.

Secondly from level 2 onwards the Grey wizard gets so many in built power points per dungeon. Starts with 6 or something, this can be used when you have run out of Winds of Magic power. Once you use them they return next dungeon.

You can also get Orb's of Might with additional power in them.

So use your spare power pool when it's needed rather than blowing it all early on against something weak.

There's also a Hat that adds 4-6 extra points to his per Dungeon reserve when you use it. I found it as the final objective in a random dungeon near the first village. Like a reusable Orb of Might.

There is also Gear that has + 1 Power which adds to the Winds of Magic unless you roll a 1 on the d6 and get 0 and a chance of an encounter or more enemies.

Wizards have there remaining per dungeon reserve where other people have thier Missile Attacks.

if you use say on orb or the hat reserve does it last that dungeon till you use the points or do you need to use them that turn?
if i get free points per turn should I always be using them in the corridors to heal the team as much as I can during turns between encounters?

Last for the remainder of the dungeon and yes you should use or lose the random power each turn.

Really depends on your position if you should use the power to heal or not. If your melee guys have 3 or 4 moves left and are one step from a new area step in, if its full of bad guys blast some with the power, if it happens to be empty then you use the power up healing. Of course if those melee guys are low on health you would need to immediately use power for healing, though the extra turn is an extra chance for a hostile encounter.
