Witch Hunter equipment

Is there a better sabre or pistol than the basic green and the enhanced blue "Fine" sabre and pistol?
A Masterwork version, maybe?

I am not confused about the character; I am just looking for similar equipment improved past the Fine level.
Simply, I am looking to improve my Witch Hunter and keep his equipment true to theme of the character.

Am pretty sure I've seen an orange grade sabre. Not so sure about the pistol. There is at least 2 orange grade bullets though.

Edit; Actually I think I remember the orange sabre being offered sometimes in the settlements that sell masterwork weapons (not the elven ones). 1 or 2 of the orange items offered in those places usually change every time you visit.

Altdorf, Wurtbad & Averheim have Mastercraftsman Forges in their marketplaces.
Is this where you are saying you saw the Level 3 sabre?
All there seems to be there these days are Shortswords, Long Bows, Great Axes, Great Swords and Warhammers.
Checked all three city marketplaces.

Yes, most towns have a blacksmith that is able to produce a single Masterwork each visit.
The villages - almost never.

Yes, Judgement Bullets and Explosive Bullets are Level 3 ammo.
Silver Bullets and Flame Bullets are Level 2.

Two points:

1. The Witch Hunter is a one-trick pony who is only good v. the undead. So I wouldn't really prioritize him.

2. Even if you are set on using the character extensively, I am not sure if you want to waste an orange slot on a pistol, because he's not a full-time range character - and the pistol is the most unreliable weapon to boot (in fact, your spells are better damage dealers in terms of efficiency even v. non-un-dead).

Actually Lampros, at higher levels, I have found that the Witch Hunter is quite effective.

Moreover, his Level 2 pistol does not jam as much either when he is at L7 & 8; hoping a Level 3 pistol would rarely jam.
Furthermore, I hoping for more damage out of a Level 3 sabre as well.
Always can use greater offense out of adventurer in WhQ, no matter the format.

Frankly Lampros, I enjoy the Witch Hunter in the original WhQ and I am doing so in eWhQ too.
Therefore, the desire to tool him up, as it were, in eWhQ.

I found the orange sabre in one of the early random missions in Reikland, so it does exist. Never saw the orange pistol though.

I too like the Witch Hunter -he is not an A+ character, but he offers a balance between decent shooting, decent melee and with some nice tricks. Not a priority if you only want 4-5 guys perhaps, but he's good enough to include even when not fighting Undead.

Indeed I remember now winning that orange grade Sabre one of the times I did that region quest that always gives an orange item as reward in Reikland. That quest can also give a blue or orange sword for mages which is pretty good and only available there, until the Relic/Dragon Blade it's pretty much the best for them. I might be confusing quests there though, been a while.

I think I also got the orange sabre as a random drop after combat once too, like Sigmar's Hammer.

After a few days of trawling around, there appears to be no Level 3 items coming up in Reikland.
Now there appears to be fewer & fewer Level 3 items and more & more Level 2 items in Averland.

Found the Armour of Righteous Fury (+4T; +1M; +1 R-Att, 5000c) in Averland.
There are some trade offs from the Silver Plate (+2T; +1W/t; +1 M-Att; 2000c).
The additional plus is that it frees up a Blue/Level 2 slot for a second WH amulet.

If the Orange/Level 3 Sabre ever showed up, I could field three amulets then.
Been told elsewhere by another guy that it exists, but still cannot find it even after completing all missions.

I think you can buy the orange sabre (damage: 10-12; crit +4-6) with a little bit luck at the store. I have found the orange pistol (damage: 14-16; double crit chance) and an amulet of rage with +2 melee attacks (more with higher levels). This amulet never show up as a quest erward!

Witch Hunter item I have never encountered.

Stage 3/Orange Level Stake just showed - Blessed Silver Stake.
(10 Dam; Against Undead +40 Dam & stuns; Against Undead chance of instant kill)

I guess if you have nothing else to take a Level 3 slot, well then, ... .
