I am curious to know if anyone is hosting multiplayer servers and if it's populated? I know $5 USD ain't much but it's wasted money if no one is playing online imo. I'd love to know because I'll join in the fun, if there is any fun being had.
I was in a squad that had a guy that made all sorts of awesome maps. Not sure if it was you, but it could've been. I went by MrAlabama in those days. If I recall correctly, didn't you have several of your maps on the Nova World servers?
Man, those were the days! The Delta Force games are what got me hooked on online shooters. Very fond memories of these games.
I can't believe this site is still up! Here are some of the maps I did, seems a few has gone missing from the database.. http://www.dfbarracks.com/mapdb/index.php?action=lm&gv=df2&st=VARG
That is awesome! I remember the Sniper's map well. Sniper was one of my favorites to play. Thanks for sharing this. Nice to know there are still some old school DF players out there. I think of this game often when playing online shooters.
I definitely remember seeing your name. If memory serves I remember seeing your name quite a lot actually. I'm thinking we may even have been in the same squad or we played in different squads that grouped together quite often.
Anyone remember what this meant? <S>? ;p
Next was Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis (now known as ARMA: Cold War Assault). Another awesome game for it's time. And after that... Soldier of Fortune & Alien versus Predator (now known as Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000), both as the Gold Edition's... I think.
And then there's my all-time favorite FPS franchise... the Unreal Tournament series. Loved & played all of them, but 2004 was most certainly my game of choice.
Oddly enough, my PC gaming history all started with RTS's... first the original Command & Conquer, then Red Alert. And eventually onto another one of my all-time favorites...
Total Annihilation! You could consider Supreme Commander & Planetary Annihilation continuations of the original TA. A lot of these games are available on Steam now as well, which I ended up rebuying (minus DF 1 through 3, sadly & ironically). But I highly recommend checking the others out if you hadn't already in the past (also check out OpenRA)!
Man, I really rambled on there eh? lol my bad... I'm 30 now, so my mind never gets the chance to revisit these memories, as I'm sure is the case with most of you.
So thanks for starting this thread, bringing back all these memories really made my day.
