Delta Force 2

Delta Force 2

Guide for running on windows 11 in 2025
I have ALL the delta force games working correctly on the latest windows 11 update.

I can't remember where I found it but I found a guide for one of the DF games to get it working on windows 11 and higher resolutions

This is a simple guide I made that I will post on all the Delta Force games groups for people to find. This worked for me on most up to date windows 11 using a ryzen 7 5800x and an amd 7900xt

https://github.com/dege-diosg/dgVoodoo2/releases

1. Download the latest github release of dgVoodoo2

2. extract it anywhere and run dgVoodooCpl.exe

3. then click Add and navigate to whichever Delta Force game install folder you want add.
Example C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Delta Force 2
(You can add all of them but the directX settings MUST be saved per game)

4. Select which game you want to edit in the drop down menu, then click DirectX tab

5. change the following settings on the DIrectX tab

5.1 un-check Application controlled fullscreen/windowed state
5.2 un-check disable alt+enter to toggle screen state
5.3 un-check dgVoodoo Watermark
5.4 check Force vsync
5.5 check Fast Video Memory Access
5.6 change Antialiasing (MSAA) drop down menu to 2x
5.7 change the filtering drop down menu to Force anisotropic 16x
5.8 change the resolution drop down menu to whatever your native monitor you will be playing on
5.9 change the VRAM drop down menu to anything over 1024MB (I set mine to the max 4gb but I have a GPU that can use it as I have an AMD 7900XT)

6. Click apply and close the program

congratz your DF games should be launching and working just fine now

A bit different from DF1, getting a lot of transparency through the geometry, seeing things that shouldn't be rendered as should be out of sight, such as buildings on the other side of hills I've not crested yet.

All Delta force games are working fine now, except for Delta Force 2
It doesn't work with dgVoodoo
The game doesn't even start
Only way I can get to play it with the rendering is by setting it to use the software renderer instead of hardware rendering.

I also wanted to add to this. In Dgvoodoo go to "generalExt" tab by right clicking to the right of the last tab and select "show all" to see all the option tabs. In the GeneralExt tab check "free mouse" if you get the spinning issue in game. I also recommend changing the forced resolution in DgVoodoo to "Max ISF 2x" this forces the game to integer scale to your monitor's resolution at the best possible resolution.

Also under General Ext tab set "resampling" to "Bicubic" for Delta Force 1 and 2 and "Lanczos 3" for Delta Force Land Warrior and Task Force Dagger
It is not working anymore in the latest update of windows 11.
After applying all settings listed above, the game only boots while running it in compatibility mode for windows 95 or 98, and there is the famous graphical glitch running running on the latest windows 11 update while in game menu. I wish gog would take care of this.
