Is there a way to fix the heavily pixelated graphics and make the controls play like a modern shooter today?

I am afraid there is nothing you can do about the graphics. The only thing you can do is setting the resolution on 1024x768.

Edit the file called df.cfg. Open it using notepad, then edit the line "max_res" setting it to 5. After that you should be able to select 1024x768 as your maximum resolution. Not much, but better than nothing.

As for the controls... you can rebind the buttons using settings. Any problems there?

No mouse support? I think you should look more closely into settings.

I have played it with mouse in 1999, and I still play it well on Windows 7.

Basic mistake - theres no pixels but voxels. And no, there is no fix for this old voxelated graphic :)

I kinda like the voxels. In the 2nd game they get free grass effects out of them. It was pretty neat back in the day.

For now, all you can do is set the game to run at 1024x768. But the community is trying to add full HD resolutions.

why would you want to change the pixelated graphics? It's how the devs made the game!

You can force Res, AF and AA through DGVoodoo but doesn't look that different. If you want more modern graphics/controls try one of the newer Delta Force games.
