Any way to get Full Screen in Windows 10?

I have tried various compatibility settings but no joy. It always seems to run in Window mode although in the game and in its config file it is set to run full screen. When it starts up, I don't see the desktop anymore but I do see a 4:3 window border and standard windows title bar above it which unfortunately cuts into the top of the game screen display a little also.

The game does run alright. I just tested out starting up a campaign mission and getting into the world, moving around a bit and exited back out to keep messing with settings.

Is this just the way it is for this game on modern Windows?

Forgot to mention, I've got resolution set to 1024 x 768. It did the same thing in 800 x 600 before I increased it.

Try dgVoodoo. It fixes older games. It works on games that use DirectX 8.1 or lower. I tested it on this game becasue I have same issue and it worked.

I used DF1_Fixer and adjusted the game_res to 5.

And I have full screen and easy connection to host or join online games.
