offline mode hidden locations on world map?

as i am playing offline mode and walking around the worldmap, i am starting to find hidden locations (?) while pressing E all over the place.
i found one by accident near ardoris (artemis outland), and that one looks like a blank map of a town nearby, just rotated on the minimap.
several others seem to be the same thing, ie copypasted townmaps with nothing in it, but accessible via the world map. they have no icon or landmark on the map.

whats the deal with them?
