Tips on making gold?

just bought today, havent been paying attention to gold, just getting a feel for the game, now im ready to start farming and getting gold, any tips? fast, slow, grind...whatever it takes, professions?

Old thread but who DOESN'T need to make gold? I found Highvale near Resolute to be an awesome spot to gold grind. There are quests associated with it (I believe in the Courage line) so entering it for the quest it looks very different from when you enter after the quest is done.

This area is excellent for several reasons:
- The respawn rate is very high
- There are tents in the camp area you can use to kite ranged mobs into melee range
- An absolute ton of iron, silver, clay and ruby nodes (along with trees, wolves, pigs and bears)
- Bonus loot! Elven and Bandit groups battle each other leaving fully loaded corpses around to loot. Also several crate and barrel "smashables" with gold and scraps.

The fast paced back and forth between Highvale to Resolute is extremely profitable. I have compared this to other, higher level areas and in terms of pure gold making, I have found it tough to beat!

First off it is slow in the beginning to get money, but not impossible. there are many ways to make fortunes fast the issue is you need time to build such wealth. too many people these days are casual and expect great reward through instant gratification. This game is all about earning rewards. If you want fast money farming is where its at.

100 wood will earn you 5000 gold. metals and other material will net you alot. 100 cotton = 1000 gold. rares from farming like beetles = alot.

you can also simply craft your own stuff if you think the price it too much for gear. I went from nothing to a few hundred thousand gold in a month simply farming for materials to sell to player crafters.

Other means to make money fast is to make gear to sell. you make one nice weapon and sell it for 80k as you mentioned you would have the money. does it take a while? sure does to make some of the higher level +5 and above but it pays. or make house items... they dont take as much to make and a simple chair can earn you 500gold per chair.

being that I now own many lots it was all achieved in less than 2 months with the help from two friends that helped farm our way.

If you are just a monster type killing person then you can expect to get a few hundred an hour just killing mobs and selling loot, or break down all that loot into raw mats and sell them. want more money go to higher level zones and kill things that have non rusty items then that few hundred turns to a few thousand a night.

if you are a casual gamer and expect reward fast this game will never work for you. all them guys with the fancy homes and gear worked for it. this is why a common person can eventually become a wealthy lord ;)

depending on your test with the oracle and what you do in the world affects this. example saytr's. there are the fauns and the saytrs. saytrs are masters over the fauns and enslave them. the fauns help the saytrs in battle however if you kill the saytr the fauns run away. if you kill the faun the oracle will punish you for doing wrong as the faun was innocent and only under the influence of its master. that is just one example there are dozens....

I earn a good chunk of money selling wood. If you go to the Naryard Pinelands (perferably northern) in the northwest corner of novia. You can find a ton of pinewood, which player vendors will pay a pretty penny for.

need a good trader spot and sell crafting supplies. crafting goods rarely sell fast but sell good if people need it. other then that selling junk and stuff you need fighting random things. usually 2k an hour depending on area. cheap to just buy gold though in this game, saves a ton of time if you dont play often. other then that shrugs.
