The store page sais it's a new release, but the pics are in 4:3 ratio and the trailer video doesn't even have sound... So I'm guessing it's quite old?

It was released this year and it is the 8th game in the series. Games like these are common on clients like BigFish so graphics is never their #1.

I didn't know that. It's been 5-7 years since I played a game from one of those sites.

Is it good? I enjoyed their sim building games that were simple, but something more complex is nice. Does this fit that role?

They're fun games, while not much to look at they do offer enjoyable game play. The first couple levels start off easy and then the difficulty ramps up from there. It's a time management game similar to Roads of Rome.
