Flickering / Frozen graphic parts - Windows 10 Build 10074
Tried every solution so far, nothing works. changed one or both entries in config.ini and STEAM_config.ini

bUse32BitsScreen=1 -> 0
bFullScreen=1 -> 0

Tried compatibility mode for Win 95, Win 98 SP3, Win Vista SP 2, Win 7, Win 8. Run as administrator, deactivate dpi-scaling ...

Don't know what else to do. :-(

I also had this problem, but another user, named Kc, said this in another topic:

config.ini -> fullscreen 1 -> fullscreen 0, no need for any compatibility stuff

This made all my problems wth flickering graphics stop. Hope it is useful for you.

If I change the ini files in Windows 10, the game does not even start. I will stay with the flickering. :steamfacepalm:

Im just going to throw this out there and not rubbing it in. The game runs smooth without flickering or missing options/curser and im running 10. Note: I haven't installed any mods. Nvidia GTX 960

You running that in Fullscreen, son?

Intel I7 6700K
GTX 970
16GB DDR4

For me the game has multiple issues, but doesn't crash. It's mostly cursor invisbility and screen flicker. Either way, makes it unplayable. Also issues with sound.

I have the same issue as above with flickering and losing mouse. Haven't been able to play the game since I bought it last year and I've since re-downloaded onto a newer pc. Still doesn't work and does the same thing

To anyone having the issues with losing the mouse and/or sometimes things flickering but still being able to play, just try to press "S" on your keyboard and see if it works.
Worked for me

This worked for me:

"Halfinger has Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure 18 Jul @ 2:29pm
Pressing the 's' key showed cursors and menu items for me as well as fixed a few ingame glitches (such as an inventory item not showing) I also ran in Win XP SP 3 compatabilty mode and changed 'bFullScreen=1' to 'bFullScreen=0' in the config file located in the steam install folder. I noticed removing full screen gave me the cut scene at the start and, I assume, any during the game. You may not need to mess with the config file as I did.

So far it is playing fine"

The screen still flickers sometimes and the cursor dissapears if I don't press "s", but the game is playable so far.

This worked for a friend and combined with what I posted before I can now play the game without glitches:

"MadLynx has Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure 26 Feb @ 2:40pm
Yet another fix for flickering
1. Go to WineD3D For Windows[downloads.fdossena.com] and grab the WineD3DForWindows_3.0-staging.zip
IMPORTANT: use 3.0 version, NOT the latest one;

2. Unpack the archive;

3. Copy three unpacked files (d3d9.dll, libwine.dll, wined3d.dll) to the game installation folder. Default path for x64 OSes is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Safecracker 2;

4. Play the game.

This method could possibly fix other glitchy Kheops titles."
