As the title says.

Unfortunately, they haven't announced any date for when the game might become available for pre-order as of yet, nor do I expect them to do so.

All you can do is Wishlist the game and you'll receive notification once it becomes available for purchase.
I noticed on the store page:

Planned Release Date: Apr 18, 2025
This game plans to unlock in approximately 2 months

Since today is 1/24/25, I'd expect that to say "approximately 3 months" if it was referring to the release date. It's most likely referring to the date that you can start to pre-purchase the game -- i.e. maybe one month early?

That's a good catch. I noticed that as well, but just presumed it was an error.

You may be right about the error... I see the same "2 months" on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 which is already available for preorder and set for a 4/24 release. Lunar's 2 months may actually be referring to the release date rather than the preorder date.
+1
Tomorrow is the Lunar New Year Sale here on Steam. If they wanted to be thematic about it, then tomorrow would be the perfect time to put the game up for pre-order, especially if they took a small percentage off the price while they were at it.

That’s a pretty interesting theory. If it turned out to be true, I’m sure no one would complain. :Emil:
Oh, it's not a theory, more of a suggestion. I strongly doubt that they'll do this, but it would be awesome if they did.

Good point about it being more of a suggestion than a theory. Guess I got too excited lol.

No, that's just how Steam is. You have to round up and since it's less than three months, it says three months.

^I came to say this. Steam always rounds down on their time units. For instance, if a game is set to release in exactly 4 hours and 59 minutes, Steam will report that it will release in 4 hours.

In this case, since it's less than a full 3 months by about a week, Steam is stating it will be 2 months.

There probably won't be a preorder period.
