Most people I talk to would rather have had a new translation with some of the old voice cast. The game was always a bit goofy but the WD script should have been an extra, not the main translation.
Edit: Though Nall was an improvement. Ruby is still pretty annoying though.

alex is a borderline silent protagonist. he has at best 5 lines through out the whole game.

the psp version made him more talkative like hiro.

Alex has always been a pretty flat character.

If you are new to these games you might be pleased to hear that the protagonist of Lunar 2, Hiro, is much more talkative and expressive than Alex.

Alex sometimes spoke but they really held back with him compared to Hiro. Nall is the star of Lunar 1 anyway. The cat is best thing of the game. Cute and snarky. :)
