I've always felt that Eternal Blue was the vastly superior game, with a much better cast and story, but you still really need to have played the first game to get the most out of it.

It just won't hit the same if you're missing that context.

I agree with this statement. Though there are some things in Eternal Blue that didn't fit in Silver Star Story, such as the towers. It could just be that I don't remember anything about any towers in the first game. I only remember the dragons, and their dungeons, and a few other things; but towers of any kind just weren't there that I can remember.

I'm torn. On one had, I only played EB back in the day, so I'm looking forward to this opportunity to finally play SSS. On the other hand, EB was REALLY freaking good, and had one of the best-realized love stories of its era with real impact on the plot, which you don't get all that often in JRPGs, and I really want to play that again.

I gotta go with Silver Star, much better paced game overall I think. Jessica over Ronfar anyday. I do like Jean though, and Hiro is a much better developed MC compared to Alex. I'll take Lemia over Nash+Mia too.

Plus nothing beats sampling the goods.

Silver Star Story any day. Eternal Blue was great, but SSS was just so special. To this day, Ghaleon stays one of my favorite video game villains.

I would go with Eternal blue, mostly because the ending and epilogue was fantastic and a great double-take for the player.

Ghaleon was the best part of both games.

Started with Eternal Blue on a borrowed Sega CD. So i have to go Lunar 2, either SCD or Psx version.

for me Lunar 1 Silver Star Story. it was my first jrpg, that game will always have a special place in my heart.

Eternal Blue. SSS is great but EB with its characters and epilogue were better. Jean the ♥♥♥♥♥ Queen, Leo and Ronfar were best!
