Excited about new voice acting!
I really loved most of the voice performances in the originals (Ghaleon and Ruby were some standouts), but I could never quite vibe with the english Lucia's performance, so I'm really looking forward to hearing a new take on her! Or, if I've misunderstood and they're just redoing the songs, at least I'll have the option to swap to Japanese audio!

If true, a nice middle ground would be to include both old and new as selectable options, but that sounds unrealistic. We should just be thankful we're getting a port at all, honestly.

That said, I personally didn't have a problem with Lucia's original English VA but if they gut Ronfar's voice, it just won't be the same--I've braced myself though. I'm also looking forward to the JP audio regardless of how things turn out.:steamhappy:

Apparently you can toggle the graphics between old and new, but I haven't heard anything about that for voices (there could be rights issues). I'm a bit spoiled because my PS2 still works, so I can revisit the originals whenever I want, so I'm excited to experience anything new and shiny about the release. I hope the new cast (if there is one; still possible I misinterpreted) can make it their own!

I read about the passing of Lord Leo's voice actor some years ago, gonna miss the way he says SAMPLE MY GOODS.

However... Ghaleon is precious to me. John Truitt is the one and only for me. His over the top and highly dramatic take on Ghaleon is legendary, especially the very good Saturday morning cartoon villain laugh.

At the very least, I hope Nash retains the "CHECK THIS OUT" and it sounds good, because you're gonna be hearing it alot. The PSP version with Nash's weak grunts was just a massive disappointment.

The SegaCD (original) versions had best voice acting, they should include that as optional version...

I imagine the script is far too different for Lunar 1 Sega CD vs PS1 (maybe not Lunar 2) for Sega CD audio to be a toggle, but I sure do have nostalgia for the Sega CD versions as well!

This is my biggest fear after listening to the 'Wings' re-recording with whoever sang the new version. It just didn't hit the same at all compared to the PS1 voice. I don't want to use the cringe but.... it's a close description. Like there just didn't feel like there was as much heart put into it.

There's absolutely a brand new voice cast for every single role across both games, we have confirmation of that, so no one has misinterpreted for those of you who were worried. I just hope it wont ruin the game for me, as the original voice cast is what I came to know. I'm staying hopeful that they'll just add fresh life to the game but they have to be on point and can't just drop the ball singing or voice performing half-heartedly.

I also need to know who's re voicing Ghaleon. What am I going to do without Truitt at the helm of the antagonist??

While I love John Truitt, I'm open to other people voicing him. Rokuro Naya did a fantastic job in the Japanese SEGA CD version of Silver Star and every version of him in Eternal Blue for example. But if they get Troy Baker to reprise his horrid imitation of Ghaleon... Japanese with subs or modding the WD dub back in will be my way to go. I will only give the new dub a chance if someone completely new voices Ghaleon, and voices him well.

I could just be hoping, but I wouldn't *assume* that when they say the cast is ENTIRELY new, that they would rehire any previous Voice Actor for any of these roles. So I'm thinking Ghaleon is likely to have someone completely new. I can forgive the Wings song sounding a little flat emotionally, but as long as they aren't dropping the ball on their dialogue lines as a whole, I'm not tooooo concerned. I'll just have to get used to a different cast. I've just never been put in this situation before and I don't have much faith in my neurodivergent brain to be okay with it at first. :/

Not me, I'd rather them having the WD voices, which is the one I have nostalgia for. At the very least they should include them as a bonus in the option menu swapping between old and new voice acting, similar to what Star Ocean Second Story R did I think.
