You can see changes only if you actually equip and fire it. It gets better attack area.
It is a problem leading to confusion that there is no visual mark or text indicating that a weapon is upgraded.
I never bothered upgrading the weapons at the shop because every damn enemy in the games drop one with random stats so you're bound to get something good eventually.
The demonic ability is from levelling up Maxim, you healing if you HOLD the button long enough (There's things to make it faster too), and you eventually get more skill using it. Really hope you have been doing that, cause his stats shares with the sisters.
The games tells you nothing. Even with the updated tutorials. For exemple, if you dash and attack with the machine gun sister (I can never remember who is who), she will use her shotgun blast. It doesn't even tell you to double tap down to reload, since they probably assumed those who plays played the first game. It took me forever and a half to figure out how to use the stocks/seeds too (You wouldn't believe you just have to charge an attack with Whip sister). Not even progression abilities are explained, so be ready for those.
(And Zuzu was the ''Hardest'' boss for me, as in, the only one I had to actively think about what the hell I was doing, heck I even used health potions. One key thing in here is having the most maneouvrabilities option you can get, like +1 jump badges from stores or mid-air dash)
-Fountain increase more money you get at the base
- There are two way of upgrade, Dupe upgrade and Move skill. Dupe use the same weapons you have = increase it's effective (damage/heal). Move skills make you move it's sub-stats to the other weapon (ATK+ CRI+)
- Hold R1 to heal, R1+Dash to sprint, R1+Two Sub weapon button to use super punch (The latter two unlocked later)
They seriously forgot to add the tutorial for the last one, the rest aren't hard to figure it out if you had play a lot of games.
Be careful, any action that requires demonic ability can't be used when energy is depleted.
I’ve had a more enjoyable time in dark souls than trying to beat that boss.
I’m only level 20, and it seems nice going in with 600 health but you can’t jump over the sliding attack, eventually the entire screen is the unbreakable rocks that doo 85-100 dmg when you touch them.
So 3 minutes into the battle and both sisters are dead and the worm with 1.6billion hp is only slightly damaged because all my weapons do 3-10hp per attack.
However, you are correct. It’s likely a skill issue. I work a full time job and have a life outside of gaming, so I can’t spend 18-20 hours a day playing like I did in my youth. I don’t have the time to replay a boss fight (after trekking a mile from the last save point) 212 times before the game lets you actually start to do damage.
It’s just wild how much fun Demon Purge was and then they unleash this souls-like torture fest as a sequel. With zero tutorials, 3 fast travel points, and a leveling system that gives you more health but then triples the damage foes do to you.
Now my game is broken as the sisters randomly switch (even when not touching the controller) and won’t switch back. So right after I try to get help with this rage inducing game… it completely breaks on me. Anyway.
Some tips with Susu
- At the start, switch to Masha, when it's does Split Stone attack, get very near to the worm and spam attack button, you will not get hit by falling rock at all. You can already dealt more than 10% of the boss HP with this
-- If it charging, it's will attack with it's tail, just jump away to the corner.
-- The black rocks aura actually have smaller hitbox than it's look, you can actually stand in the gap between them
- Slide Attack = do double jump (more if you can) than air dash
- Laser = pretty obvious
- Ground attack = bait and move away. Suzu attack with her sword wave at random so just keep distance and use Kirika gun.
I actually don't know the black rock is destroyable and beat her in the hard way. Also use Maxim heal and items if you can't beat her.
Its incredible how the game doesnt explain one single of the 257 gameplay mechanics it introduces...hell, if you didnt play the first one, you dont know how to freaking reload de machine gun.
And about the bosses, they are simply untested.
There is a third, which you might have missed (thanks to the game's poor UI). It does pretty much the same things as upgrading sub-weapons in the last game.
