Hi, as a foreigner, I am obviously not in a position to tell you what values you or your countrymen should hold, furthermore, I generally agree with your position that unless a game is clearly political in nature that it should avoid making potentially divisive political statements. That being said, this response is, in my view, excessive. From my research, it does appear to me that this "Taiwanese" Chinese used on the island, while very similar, is materially different enough to justify adding as a language option to a game, particularly in a world where AI makes it much easier to have relatively quick and accurate translations.
I would like to ask: is this an issue of labeling? Can this third "Taiwanese" language exist in the game at all in a way that is not offensive to Chinese players, or is its inclusion alone so problematic that a game with it included simply cannot exist within China?
You mean, this "game" is from Taiwan ? I thought there were higher standards by there.
There cannot be any idea of splitting or dividing since both China and Taiwan already exist since decades.
It makes as much sense as if France had claims on Belgium or Germany on Austria.
i believe the developers are Korean.
Hokkien in different regions does have different word usage habits.
I am very glad that you can agree with me, and I will answer your questions.
We come from different regions, have different political ideologies and cultures, and have different understandings of one thing, but I am glad that you can have a friendly exchange with me, and I am happy to answer your questions.
0.9 There are many issues concerning the traditional culture of China and the modern history of China. If you can, I hope you can study the traditional culture of China and the modern history of China carefully, and then judge for yourself who is right and who is wrong, instead of looking at the arguer's one-sided view.
1. First of all, in the modern Chinese language system, simplified Chinese is the most popular language, followed by traditional Chinese. These two languages are essentially one language, which means that we in China can understand both traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese. If you are interested, you can study the reasons, so Taiwan Province in the game is very unnecessary. We only need simplified Chinese or traditional Chinese to let players who use the Chinese language system play games.
2. Secondly, there does exist a minority language in China, called Minnan, which is the so-called Taiwan Province language, which is caused by historical reasons in the past. However, in China, we have 56 ethnic minorities, each of which has its own dialect, and some ethnic groups even have their own scripts. Internally, we respect the traditional languages, scripts and cultures of various ethnic groups, carry forward, inherit and protect them, but externally, we are all from China. This third Taiwanese language can exist in the game in a way that does not offend China players, and that is traditional Chinese.
3. The author uses AI translation extensively in the game, and there are many language errors, which make the players unable to enjoy the game well, but I think it is harmless and can be optimized later.
4. The reason why this game has been abused by so many people in China is that the author has touched the political red line of China (Taiwan Province is an inalienable part of China, and any propaganda of national division is incorrect). In the eyes of China people, adding Taiwan Province to the game is just touching the political red line of China, so there is something wrong with just including it, so that the game containing it cannot exist in China at all.
5. The reason why this game can't exist in China: Because it promotes Taiwan Province's independence (promoting national division).
6. From my point of view, I agree with many China players who collectively insult the author of this game. Because I am from China, I love my country, and because this game contains propaganda to split my country, I will also give this game a bad review.
7. Under your comments, Taiwan Province independents propagate their thoughts and opinions, which is not allowed in China, because it involves national division, which is not allowed in any country. I hope you can look at these remarks critically. This is not freedom of speech, but people who advocate Taiwan Province independence are not clear about the problem of having a country before having a family. As a China native, I have only one thing to say about this issue: I don't want my motherland to be divided, I hope China will be reunified peacefully.
