Sound broken

I've recently just started playing the game again, but to my dissatisfaction I come across the issue of no sound. I previously had this issue the full saga game, which was caused by me alt tabbing out, however in this case I can't seem to locate the cause. I launch the game and there is absolutely no sound. I've tried restarting my PC, validating my game files, and every other solution I could find on the web only for it to work on occasion. Has anyone else had this problem before? If so, is there a fix?

I've tried this as well, but I've found the solution is just connecting my wireless ear buds. I'm not sure why this game and only this game is incompatible with my sound system, but it works I guess
