It's a mobile game, so simple mechanics are to be expected, but it's nevertheless challenging and fun.

I'm really happy that I found this game back in the day (it was free on the app store for a time) and found it on Steam again! Such a nostalgic ride back. Great game, well developed. Cool art and the themes are awesome. Big fan 10/10.

The gameplay is very simple, you are basically playing with two keyboard keys and the whole point is to time your attack and defence actions, sometimes you have an item you can activate to add attribute points, heal or cause some effect. That's it. The fun part of the game is trying to come up with plausible builds to overcome the dungeons. You get to play as 3 different classes with 3 available exclusive perk trees for each class which you can mix in to combine different perk bonuses into something that might work for you. Furthermore as you explore the dungeons you will come across different equipment that add certain attribute penalties and bonuses to your build adding even more customizability for your adventurer.

The graphics are old school stylized pixel arts. I like them and while they are decent, I would have liked it if they were just a tad more crispy and high-contrast, as at times I had trouble differentiating between an enemy's attack and idle animation and died to certain enemies because of not realizing I was being attacked. There is also an in-game beastiary wiki with short mentions on foes and small pixel drawings of each enemy you will encounter, cute detail, I appreciated its existence.

The difficulty varies, you usually die to 2-4 attacks compared to your build and character, so prefer to slodge through dungeons playing it safe to minimize risk and enemy retailiation chances. Sometime you get hit once and the enemy that hit you once goes berserk and keeps spamming fast attacks on repeat so chances are if you get hit once you might die and have to restart the dungeon.

The grind is what I really dislike in this game since you will have to spam clear the same dungeons over and over to collect enough cold coins to unlock perks and start exoerimenting with your builds. It is kind of gross that clearing a dungeon might give you 80 to 120 gold depending on difficulty and unlocking a new perk might cost 750 gold coins or more, 2250 gold if you want to unlock 3 mid-high tier perks :(. It feels like the devs made the griending part of the game to limit build theory crafting to extend playtime, as there is not much content available in the game otherwise.

Still it's a cute game with some interesting building aspects.

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
