Help! Star wars Unleashed 2, Unable to start, black screen after starting, not responding>>close the program?

I just bought the game via stream, installed the game, then as i start the game, it opens up 2 windows, one is the game window, the second one is a active movie window (i have no idea why this exists, never seen this before). I click the game window, all i see is black screen, then i hear the sound of the intro of the lucas art thing for about 2 secs, it stops, then program not responding>>game shut down.
I have done some research on the net:
Step 1. Update Windows Media Player to the latest version. Install it if you don’t have it.
Step 2. Associate WMV files with Windows Media Player.
Step 3. Update your codecs. I recommend downloading K-lite Mega Codecs.
Step 4. Update your video card drivers. Click here to find the latest Nvidia and AMD video card drivers by clicking on their respective names here.
Step 5. Reboot

i tried all that, still have the same result. I am sure im not the only one with this problem. Is there any1 out there that knows whats going on?

This may sound stupid but this happens to me sometimes as well, what i do is either just left click on the game screen and usually it will pop back up and be fine. But if it doesn't work i just exit out of the game manually wait a few min and restart it.

I run AMD CrossFire on my system, I disabled it and the game works. I hope that helped.

Hey guys, i had the same problem. Anyone happen to be using 2 monitors? i am and as soon as i switched it to computer only it worked fine. do this by holding your left windows key then press P then select computer only. Done and dusted, hope this helps someone else.

so how i fixed it was by changing my screen resolution to 1280 x 720 which is the games default. then changing the games video settings to what ever your max screen resolution is or whatever you want to play in like 1920x1080

hey try this, I found that my dual display cause the problem and this works for me :D

Go to "Compatibility Tab" and check "Disable Desktop Composition" and all done!

I am also having a problem with this game,

Downloaded, clicked play, the VC++ trys to install but it glitches out of that screen and does nothing.

A few times before I deleted local content and re-downloaded, I got further that time, the game started but black screened, crashed and self shutdown

I can't do anything! The game starts without problem, but in the tutorial it says "Press 1 to attack with your lightsabers". I have tried every single button on my keyboard and mouse but nothing works. What should I do?

I went to the file folder and changed the compatibylity settings to windows xp service pack 3 and ecxecuted it from there and it worked

CRASHES MY COMPUTER! When I try to play this game it goes to an infinite black screen that I can't get out of. I have to cold reboot my computer. What garbage! Really Lucas Arts is garbage.

I have done all of the above fixes to no avail. What a waste of money and time.

i switched it to run in compatibility mode for windows XP SP2, and it worked fine.
