Game Not Launching
Hi - If you managed to get Force Unleashed II to launch, please help

Recently downloaded and installed the game. Unfortunately, it won't launch. Here's what happens.

Two windows pop up - one of which is the Force Unleashed II game window - except it's black. Another window pops up entitled ActiveMovie Window. No animation plays on either screen and most of the time it just stays like that or just completely crashes.

My specs are pretty good, so shouldn't be an issue. Although there's a good chance the issue with running the game is because my laptop is too new/advanced for the game.

Here are my specs:

Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 - all latest drivers are updated

I've tried several things:

1) Running the program as Administrator with Compatibility Mode for Windows 7.

When I try troubleshooting the Compatibility Mode for Windows 7, I click "Test Program" and get this message: "Cannot open AssetPaths.txt. Please try force-syncing it in Perforce."

2) I've tried workarounds on the forum about changing screen resolution really low to 1280x720.

3) I've tried launching the game in Windowed and Borderless mode via Steam.

4) I've tried to disabling the Antialiasing Mode in the Nvidia control panel to Application-Controlled.

5) I've verified the integrity of game files in Steam - I get a message saying 1 game file failed.

If anyone else has any suggestions, your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Try changing your monitor refresh rate to 60 HZ.

If that didn't work, try one of solutions here:

I have windows 11 and was trying all fixes but I finally get it to work. Get this 4GB patch https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371 and use it on SWTFU2.exe in your main game file. After that it worked for me all good.
1. Go to drive C > Users/YourUserName/Appdata/Local/LucasArts/Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2/Config.xml
2. Open the config.xml file with Notepad
3. Find this line at the end of the file > <s id="Win.Windowed">No</s>
4. Replace >No< with >Yes<
<s id="Win.Windowed">Yes</s>

Now the game will open in windowed mode. Once it starts, you can go to options and enable full screen. However, when you want to reopen the game, you'll have to repeat the process. If it helps, this is the resolution I'm using:
<s id="Win.Height">900</s>
<s id="Win.Width">1440</s>
