Fiends can't join my server
I'm trying to host a server with a couple of friends (both free and paid) using the 'Host game' option. Unfortunatly, when I do this, they get stuck loading with the messege "traveling to toxikk server" and never load in. I have disabled my firewall, and SteamSockets is enabled, so I shouldn't have to port forward. Whats wrong, and how do I fix this?

"steam sockets" is some trickery that may or may not work.
The best way to host a server is to have port forwarding for UDP 7777 and 27015 and NOT use steamsockets.

Firstly, thanks for the help. I've disabled it and port forwarded, but they're still unable to connect. The difference being that now Steam connect doesnt work for either and when my friend who has the full version tried to connect via the browser, it got stuck with a messege saynig he's connecting to my game, but once again, never loaded.

Also, I should note, we're all in the same region.

Does port forwarding work for you for other games/applications?
I am asking because a few ISPs have double-NAT (like A1 in Austria).
If that is enabled, they apply another address translation on their end and there is nothing you can do on your PC to allow external connections to get through.

If all the forwarding is configured correctly, you should be able to see your own server in the steam client when you click on View / Servers in the menu and select TOXIKK in the drop-down list on the bottom.

Port forwarding does work and I use it frequently for Minecraft, Gmod, 7 Days to Die, and a few other servers. In the servers tab, it doesnt show up in the internet games, but it does show up under lan on my side.

I'm still trying to get it set up, and at this point I've got a secondary account running the free verison on a different computer on the LAN, and am trying to connect with it (with steamsockets still disabled). When I try to join via the Steam server browser, via 'join game' or via an invite, the game remains unchanged on the main menu.

Hi try41000,
some questions:
-you are able to connect to regular servers right?
-are you able to join games hosted by your friend (steamsockets on) via invite (or steam friends list)?
-please try to disable your windows firewall completely for a moment when your friend tries to join your hosted game via steam invite (or friendslist). Maybe toxikk or the steamclient gets blocked for some reason.
It should work out of the box with steamsockets + steaminvite (or friendlist)

I am able to connect to regular servers fine.
I havent had them host yet, but new time thye're online, Ill have them host and report back.
I already had all my firewalls and protection disabled while testing these.
Thanks for reply. Its great to have a dev whos willing to help players with issues like these.

ok when your friends trying to join your server next time, please remove the following lines from your UDKEngine.ini before you start Toxikk, to print more debugginginformation into your logfile while someone tries to join you.
Suppress=DevOnline
Suppress=DevOnlineGame
Suppress=DevNet
Suppress=DevNetTraffic

Then post the content of your latest logfile (which can be found in TOXIKK\UDKGame\Logs) here by using https://pastebin.com/

you can also add -log to your launchparameters so you can see right away if something is wrong.
