So, no. Not really. They're both co-op games. That's where the comparisons end.
How would you describe the occasional Gear drop/dupes you receive during a lengthy session of campaign/coop mission of Battleborn? The Gear is the only actual loot that game has to offer and you cannot even interact with it during gameplay. That and the few in-game credits that occasionally drop so that you can buy more and incredibly overpriced Gear loot packs in Gearbox's pointless exercise of an in-game RNG store.
The crystals and power ups you receive while playing the game are just temporary and quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥, chore inducing mechanics disguised as "loot".
I hope that clear it up for you.
So u must like more RPG casual kinda games w/ loot in them, so that reminds me what is the point of the loot in this game? Do u just finish the story and never play again b/c then loot would be worthless xD, or is there an endless round mode like COD zombies or something that you keep playing for?
Battleborne is so bad
SW2 won't likely "need" a community but will still likely have one as it's a franchise that has earned respect over the years.
